Inclusion goes beyond ensuring that Muslim women are present in the workplace

Empowering Muslim Women Through DEI: The Vision Behind Muslimah-Jobs.com

At Muslimah-Jobs.com, the mission is simple yet profound: to empower Muslim women by bridging the gap between their faith and professional growth. The platform is the brainchild of Rachel, a passionate advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), who has dedicated her career to creating opportunities for Muslim women to thrive in the workforce without compromising their values.

Rachel’s journey into entrepreneurship and her commitment to DEI are deeply personal. As a revert to Islam, a mother of two grown-up sons, and two Grandchildren with another Grandson on the way, Rachel knows firsthand the challenges that Muslim women face in professional environments. After a fulfilling 25-year career in psychotherapy, specializing in employment, Rachel made the bold decision to retire and dedicate herself fully to Muslimah-Jobs.com.

The Journey to Muslimah-Jobs.com: Bridging Faith and Career

As a revert Muslim woman, Rachel has navigated the complexities of blending faith and community first setting up a platform for revert and new Muslims to receive guidance and sisterhood from the born Muslim community in 2022 Shahada Sisters Worldwide was created and has gained strength with nearly 1k fb members a you tube channel and dedicated events and building up Islamic  knowledge and space to share our incredible  journeys after reading Shahada . She’s seen firsthand how difficult it can be for Muslim women—whether they are reverts or born into the faith—to pursue their professional aspirations without compromising their religious values. The lack of spaces that honor both career growth and faith was a glaring gap in the job market, and Rachel knew that something had to change.

It’s from this understanding that Muslimah-Jobs.com was born: a platform dedicated to Muslim women’s professional growth with a focus on DEI principles. The site offers employers who are committed to creating inclusive, supportive environments where Muslim women can thrive in their careers, without the added pressure of hiding or minimizing their faith.

DEI and Muslimah-Jobs.com: A Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Muslimah-Jobs.com isn’t just a job board—it’s a platform that actively advocates for DEI in all aspects of the workplace.

Diversity is reflected in the wide range of opportunities that Muslimah-Jobs.com provides. Employers who list on the platform are committed to creating diverse teams where people from all walks of life, including Muslim women, can thrive. This includes respecting different cultural practices, religious attire, and personal beliefs.

Inclusion goes beyond ensuring that Muslim women are present in the workplace. It’s about making sure they have a voice, are given equal opportunities to succeed, and are supported in their career development. From providing prayer spaces to offering flexible hours during Ramadan, Muslimah-Jobs.com encourages employers to ensure that Muslim women feel included and valued.

Equity is at the heart of Muslimah-Jobs.com mission. Muslim women are often overlooked for career advancement due to biases related to their faith, attire, or cultural practices. Rachels platform ensures that Muslim women are given the same opportunities for growth and success as their peers. By promoting fair hiring practices, salary parity, and equal opportunities for leadership roles, Muslimah-Jobs.com is actively working to level the playing field.

The Future of Muslimah-Jobs.com: More Opportunities for Professional Growth

Rachel’s vision for the future of Muslimah-Jobs.com is expansive and exciting. One of the key initiatives coming in the new year is the launch of a free career development course aimed at helping Muslim women hone their skills and advance in their careers. This course will offer a range of self-directed learning opportunities, including professional writing, interview preparation, and understanding workplace dynamics. It will also include a professional Muslim hub for networking, events, and resource sharing.

Additionally, Rachel is working on a homeschooling directory to support working families, especially Muslim mothers, by connecting them to resources that allow them to balance work and family life. This directory will help families find homeschooling resources, tutors, and community support, making it easier for Muslim women to pursue their careers while maintaining family responsibilities.

As part of her commitment to paying it forward, Rachel invites others to join the cause. Muslimah-Jobs.com is seeking support to help fund career coaching for low-income Muslim women who may not have access to professional development resources. By partnering with mentors and career coaches, such as Sister Janet, Rachel hopes to provide face-to-face coaching sessions that help Muslim women navigate their career journeys.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Muslim Women Professionals

Rachel’s own journey is a testament to the power of faith, determination, and resilience. A revert herself, she understands the unique challenges faced by both reverts and born Muslims in the workforce. This is why she is so committed to bridging the gap between the two communities. Her personal story serves as an inspiration to many Muslim women who may feel discouraged or isolated in their career journeys.

Through Muslimah-Jobs.com, Rachel is working tirelessly to create a space where all Muslim women—reverts and born Muslims alike—can pursue their professional goals with confidence. A revert Muslim, mother of two grown sons, and grandmother of two and a grandson due Feb 2025 , Rachel has spent 25 years working in psychotherapy, specializing in employment. Now, she’s dedicating her full-time efforts to Muslimah-Jobs.com to help create more inclusive, equitable opportunities for Muslim women worldwide.

As a Muslim revert, I have a unique perspective on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in the professional world. Having navigated both the non-Muslim and Muslim communities, I have experienced firsthand the challenges of balancing faith and career aspirations. In my professional journey, I’ve encountered the subtle yet impactful barriers that arise from unconscious bias, as well as the power of inclusivity when it’s genuinely practiced. As a revert, the journey to being accepted in both the Muslim and non-Muslim spheres has shaped my understanding of what true equity looks like — not just in terms of religious belief, but in ensuring that people of all backgrounds can thrive without compromising their identity.
