Job Title: Children’s Residential Support Worker
Location: Cornfield Cottage (HD9 Haystack Cottage (HD9) Huddersfield
Job type: Average of 155 hours per month / full time on a weekly Rota
Hours: 7.30am – 11.00pm (15.5 hour shift) then a sleep in from 11.00pm until 7.30am
2 days on 4 days off shift rotation
Average Salary: £12.71 – £13.77
(Not including sleep-ins – paid at £50.00 extra per sleep)
(Potential to earn £26,650 – £28,673 with sleep in’s paid at £50.00 per sleep)

Responsibilities:
* This role is a highly sensitive role and as such requires excellent safeguarding awareness due to the position having a foundation built on trust with our young people.
* Contributing to the young person’s care plans and risk assessments, their review and implementation
* Forming effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate) and external agencies.
* Ensuring the home is kept clean and in a tidy condition, adhering to the cleaning rota system, encouraging the young people to participate as appropriate.
* Ensuring that good quality records are maintained as required with supervision and advice from shift leaders and Managers.
* Maintaining and promoting residential care work to high levels of professionalism expected by the company and Ofsted.
* Contributing to the educational and social development of each young person and assisting in the implementation of Individual Education Programs.
* Meeting the emotional and physical needs of our young people and maximising opportunities for their development.
Experience Required:
* Level 3/4 Diploma in Children’s & Young People’s workforce or equivalent (preferred) or must be willing to undergo the qualification once employed
* Experience working within a children’s residential setting is beneficial but not a requirement
* Ability to interact with a range of people/young people
* To be able to provide consistency of care and support to the young people
* Experience (preferred) working with children who may display
challenging behaviour
* Flexibility to work shifts including weekends, evenings, and sleep-in duties on a rota system
* Full UK driving licence is essential
* Candidates must be over 21 to meet the industry regulations
