This role entails working in the investment department of a family office (FO) operation in the UK. We are relatively young FO and looking to establish a wholesome legacy.
Investment Department Responsibilities
1. Department Building
2.To write and periodically review the FO Investment Policy.
3. Shari’ah Compliance
4. Relationship Management
5. Miscellaneous
Key investment related activities:
1. Finding investment opportunities and staying informed: Continuously monitor industry trends, company news, and economic data to identify potential opportunities and manage risks. This includes keeping abreast on economic trends, financial news, attending industry and company conferences/web calls, tracking activities of other investment managers, reading analyst and investment reports.
2. Conducting investment analysis: Conduct in-depth research on investment opportunities across the different asset classes. For capital markets – evaluating their financial statements, competitive landscape, management teams, and future growth prospects. This involves financial modelling and analysing industry reports.
3. Representing the Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO) as a shareholder proxy in front of all investments e.g., private equity and public equity.
4. Keeping an up-to-date watchlist and opportunity logs.
5. Portfolio monitoring and optimisation: Continuously monitoring the portfolio holdings and adjust as needed to optimise. This could involve selling assets that have reached their target maturation or no longer meet our investment criteria and buying new assets that present better opportunities.
